An Ode to the 12
Greece, its history, beauty, and giving nature is ingrained within me and has a large influence in my work. These pieces are inspired by the Dodecanes of the 12 islands, a cluster of many small islands in Greece. Each piece is composed of images from several different islands I visited over the years. This area has acted as an escape for me for years. A place of serenity from the chaos of reality. Using aspects of the islands, I have created my own “escape world”.
Each piece is made in hopes of representing this escape of mine, and to serve as a portal of escape for others. Though reality is, well, real, I hope to offer an opportunity to reenvision the world we live in without limitation. Like dream worlds, the works I have created may not be physically attainable. Surrealism and reality have little differences; there’s just a slight change in perspective.
